Service Tech (Salt Lake City, UT)

About This Position

Semi Service is looking to hire a new tech.

Work will include welding, body work, suspension/brakes, valves and all other areas of truck/trailer repair. Must have a good general knowledge of trailer repair and communication skills both written and verbal. Basic electric knowledge diagnostic/troubleshooting experience. DOT certified and state safety certification is a plus. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs occasionally and 10-50 lbs frequently. Must have the ability to maintain a safe, efficient and friendly work atmosphere.

Applicants must have their own basic tools. Must be able to pass drug screen and be dependable.

We offer benefits 90 days after hire date, 401k and vacation pay.

Wage is depending on experiences.

Service Tech (Caldwell, ID)

About This Position

Semi Service is looking to hire a new tech.

Truck Equipment Technician responsible for performing general repairs and new installation on new Flat beds, Service bodies, Dump bodies, Snow and Ice equipment, Van interiors and Hydraulics keeping quality, safety, and expediency at the forefront. Mechanics are the service provider as well as diagnostic technician while trouble shooting for their Supervisors by ensuring their needs are met through effective communication on all equipment repairs. Mechanics work with their Supervisors and ensure compliance with DOT and company requirements. Mechanics are also responsible for inventory control and work order time sheets.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Installation on new Flat beds, Service bodies, Dump bodies, Snow and Ice equipment, Van interiors and Hydraulics
  • Routine technical repairs and completing repair orders.
  • Fabrication working with Steel and Aluminum.
  • Welding with Stainless Steel, Steel and Aluminum.
  • Perform general or routine welding with or without prints.
  • Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriate actions, recommend process changes, and initiate improvements.
  • Be a positive role model for all team members providing support and enthusiasm – creating a professional, positive work environment.
  • Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 year of relevant experience. The ability to demonstrate successful welding, electrical, hydraulic, lift-gate skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required – Commercial Driving License preferred.
  • Use effective time management techniques and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi task without negatively impacting performance or results.
  • Must be able to effectively and accurately complete detailed work with a sense of urgency; always keeping safety at the forefront and demonstrating safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to maintain composure and react professionally during periods of stress.
  • Must be self-motivated and able and willing to work independently while motivating team efforts.
  • Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Possess basic tools to perform duties.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and written; ability to read and understand English.

Parts Counter (Caldwell, ID)

About This Position

Semi Service is looking to hire a new Parts Counter person.

Work will include:

  • Bill parts to work orders.
  • Order parts for work orders as required – Coordinate orders with Purchaser at Semi Service in Salt Lake City
  • Prepare Purchase Orders in Vision Resource Management system
  • Operate fork lifts
  • Unload delivery trucks
  • Check in orders against PO and Packing Slips
  • Receive part invoice’s into Vision Resource Management system
  • Maintain parts bin locations in warehouse
  • Ship out parts as required
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness
  • Inventory cycle count
  • Check work orders to ensure all items are billed to job
  • Write parts quotes for customers
  • This position may require safe, timely and accurate delivery of customer ordered parts to their location.
  • Valid driver’s license required
